What is a Relaxation Massage?
The clue to relaxation massage is in the title. A good relaxation massage relieves stress and tension in your muscles and will leave you feeling with a sense of wellbeing.

These benefits include, improvement to your circulation, so your organs and skin get more oxygen; it moves fluid through the lymphatic system. A relaxation massage encourages the body to digest its food and get rid of its toxins and it will help you to sleep better.
You will be draped with a towel and have the option of leaving your underwear on or off depending on your comfort zone. There will be soft music playing in the background and you will be bathed with a luscious organic coconut oil. My hands will glide over your body effortlessly as you sink into a state of total bliss.
You can have a choice between a firm massage or a fluffy (not so hard) relaxation massage. Your massage may consist of the following areas: head, neck, shoulders, back, bottom, legs, feet, stomach and chest. Any of these can be optional. If time permits the whole body can be massaged head to toe. This experience will leave you feeling wonderfully rejuvenated.

There is soft music playing during your session which tends to be a kind of music that is almost impossible to describe. It's featureless yet calming. When coming to see me, you may not get the music you desire. If you have music that you prefer please let me know and I'll look it up on Spotify, the marvels of the internet!
Before your massage treatment avoid large meals for at least an hour or more. Drink plenty of water after your massage, this will help rehydrate and flush the toxins out of your body. I suggest you don’t drink too much prior to your massage, otherwise you could be interrupting your session to go the bathroom. It's also a good idea to give yourself plenty of time either side of the massage, so that you don't feel rushed.
Go to the toilet before your massage. You will not relax if you feel you need to pee in the middle and don't know whether or not to say so!
You should always tell your therapist in advance if you
- are, or think you might be, pregnant
- have any medical conditions or are receiving any treatment or medication
- have recently had an injury or operation
- are allergic to anything, particularly skin allergies
- have any broken skin or sores on your scalp as this may affect the kind of oil and treatment you receive
So relaxed you can hardly speak…
A relaxation massage is a whole-body treatment, you will be given towels for your shower and to wrap yourself in. During the massage, you will lie on a cushioned table and depending on the type of massage you choose, I will skillfully remove the towels in a way that does not shock your dignity. The important thing here is that you feel comfortable. If you're very self-conscious or want to keep some of your clothes on, do so. It's your massage and you need to feel comfortable if you're going to feel more relaxed!
I will work with whatever suits you to ensure you're comfortable. The room will be quiet, private and warm. Prior to your massage we may need to discuss boundaries and your preferred options, if any and any other issues you may think would help. However, you should let me know if you have any particular physical problems, or if you are receiving a medical treatment.
The benefits of one relaxation massage can last days, but you need to give it a chance to do that.
After the massage you may want to stay on the massage table or go home and lie-down or snooze afterwards. This is probably exactly what you will feel like doing - listen to your body! It can seem surreal and is probably pointless, for example, to go straight back to work if you are feeling so relaxed you can hardly speak!
Please be aware that your first massage needs to be an hour and half, by the time we sit and talk and then have your shower, and of course have your massage an hour and half just disappears quickly.
